For licensed cosmetologists, Sassoon Academy offers several advanced courses in a variety of timeframes: 1 day observations, 2 to 5 day short term courses and 2, 4 or 6 week long term courses. For aspiring hair professionals, Sassoon Academy offers a 44 week cosmetology program.
Advanced courses are available for licensed and working hair professionals of all experience levels. Small course sizes allow our instructors to address each student’s educational needs. If you are not a licensed stylist, inquire about our cosmetology program.
Small - with a student-to-teacher ratio of 8-to-1, Sassoon Academy creates intimate, communicative environments ideal for instruction.
Other than being a licensed cosmetologist, there are no prerequisites for most of our advanced courses. The only courses that require a Sassoon foundation are Master Class, Collection and Salon Educator. To enroll in those three classes, students must complete an abc Cutting course. If you have never attended Sassoon Academy, we recommend starting your education with an abc Cutting course as it covers the fundamental Sassoon techniques and practices.
Yes. All courses are open to international applicants. However, the attendee is responsible for hiring an interpreter to translate during the course. Our administration team will happily provide you with a list of recommended interpreters.
Absolutely. Each course offers a fresh perspective, inspires new ideas and reflects the constantly evolving nature of our industry.
No – however, Sassoon Academy has standing relationships with hotels and apartments around each of our Academy locations. Contact our administration team for a list of partner accommodations.

Complete an application on our website or contact our administration team for a hard copy of the application. Once completed, send the application via email: SCHOOLADMIN@SASSOONACADEMY.COM or fax: 310 393 8947 to our administration team in Santa Monica, CA. All spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please contact our administration team to verify course dates, enrollment availability and schedule additions.
There is no deadline for enrollment. Courses are available until filled to capacity. Please note: enrollment is guaranteed when full payment has been received and confirmed. We recommend booking all travel arrangements and hotel accommodations after enrollment has been confirmed.
Immediately after an application and payment have been processed, our administration team will send confirmation receipts via email or registered mail. Confirmations will contain a full list of supplies, start times and dress code information.
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to our administration team for review and processing. All date changes must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the original start date to avoid penalty. The $100 registration fee is non-refundable.
